I'm creating a website, need a little help and advice?

I'm a complete novice and I'm going to be creating a website with these people as web hosts http://www.fasthosts.co.uk/ and using their site builder tools.





Can anyone tell me, will I be able to create my site in several stages and make alterations over the course of a couple of days, or will I have to do it all in one hit? Also, how easy will it be to upload my own pictures and sounds?

When you use a site builder, they are very basic and generally dont provide you with much features and help. Best way is to use a template and design it yourself and upload it to the web host, that way you can have what pictures, links, sounds where you want !





You can edit the website and create things when you want, theres no time period in when to have the website complete, just log into your account and edit the website, when you have done click finish and upload. Even though it has finished and uploaded you can still managed and changed things !I'm creating a website, need a little help and advice?
If you're paying for hosting you can run anything legal - pictures, sounds, movies - but you have to watch your monthly bandwidth limitations. Streaming sounds can eat a lot of bandwidth. (Maybe link to the stream on the site, but actually stream from your own computer.)





As far as creating the site, I'd suggest that you not use a site builder, unless the site you envision happens to be something the site builder can build. (A site builder is like a paint by number picture - if they don't have the picture you want, you can't paint what you want.) Learn to design your own site - HTML and CSS aren't that difficult to learn.
If you are using Fasthosts, you could just add a Wordpress blog.





There are hundreds of free designs and it has a decent content management system, which means you don't need to be a developer to make your site.





However, you can upgrade and design your own wordpress site as your web skills improve.
You can take as long as you like. Also, you will probably find that it is an on-going project.

Most sites let you go back and edit. Just go back to your Control pannel.
