MichelleI had 2 fusions at L5 S1 10 weeks ago, my leg and foot pain still persists. Has anyone advice how to help me.?
I'm 56 and have had 2 cervical spine operations. The last one was 7 years ago and I still deal with pain on a daily basis. I take hydrocodone, oxycodone, Soma, Neurontin and a couple of other nerve pain meds every day as part of a pain management program.
I think it all has to do whether you have permanent nerve damage or not.
Here are a few links that I use and I think they will be of interest to you.

Go to a chiropractor. If anything at least you won't be worse of than before. I was told that I would need surgery and am almost completely better because of my chiropractor. I don't even go to a general practitioner anymore, all they do is give you pills. Going was the best thing that I have ever done.
I had back surgery about a year ago and that happen ed to me the pain down my leg never subsided so 3 months later I had the surgery again and now I am pain free.
Wow, I have had back issues and even surgery but thanks for convincing me not to let anyone fuse it. Have you seen the new disc replacement surgery? Ask your nuerosurgeon if its an option for you. Good Luck.
