start small, get a market stall make some clothes and see if u can sell them that way u do what u love and earn the cash from working for your dads company use the commuting time to design. or make a preformance video and put it on u tubeJob advice? Help?
In a sense, go out and do it! Use and regard your current job as your safety net - as soon as you also start to do something creative you may find that the job is more bearable - not to mention the money. Actors spend a lot of time 'resting' so you do need to consider whether that is something you wish to commit ot. Otherwise, as the other answere says, make some stuff, get a stall, see if it sells. Ultimately you're probably going to have to think of being self-employed because unless you have a qual in design/pattern-cutting/textile design the competition is so fierce that you may find getting work difficult - no matter how talented you are. But you can always build up a portfolio, learn by your mistakes, and do it!
Very best of luck.
Maybe you could stay at your job for a while, while looking for designer seminars, or going to auditions. Since you travel to London everyday, your in a wealth of opportunity to continue your craft. Maybe you could try out for a small production that performs on the weekends to get your name out there while still having the income from you 9-5 job. Design and acting are tough businesses, so keep and eye out for any opportunites that come along. the best of luck!!!!
