My cousin is working for me at my vaction rental which is like a 10 bed cabin at the mountain. It's about 60 miles round trip and she has a Toyota Matrix which gets about 25mpg. She has to make the beds with new bedding wash the all of the sheets and do some pretty light cleaning. How much would you pay her? It takes about 1 and a half hours for the work. The salary would include gas money.I need advice !!!!!! help me decide how to pay!?
I'd pay her for her gas, plus the hour or more she commutes, plus the time it takes her to do the job- I guess it should be worth around $50 for that. It sounds like at least half a day between the commute and the clean up.I need advice !!!!!! help me decide how to pay!?
The IRS currently allows 50.5 cents/mile. So that's $30.30 just for mileage. My neighbor has a lady who charges them $30 bucks to clean their house once a week, and she's only there about 2 hours. So, based on that, I'd say $60-75 bucks a day should be plenty. Make sure that you pay her as an independent contractor, and send her an IRS form 1099 for tax purposes.
