Please help with very basic modem advice:Can you run 2 computers from one modem?

To have a computer running on internet upstairs when downstairs one is on broadband, what do i need? Curry's sold me a broadband socket extension kit, the chap DID say that was all I needed; however the kit doesn't have a plug that goes into the upstairs computer. Basically, do i need a second modem?

Please advise, my daughter and I are close to tears. Please help with very basic modem advice:Can you run 2 computers from one modem?

no
You need a router, and a usb adapter. Modem plugs into router, and then the router plugs into pc. Once router is set up. Use the usb adapter on the other computer set that up. So it will recieve internet from the router. Choose static ip and channel 1 , 5 , or 6. Best of luck
