Well, make sure you are prepared :)

Did they tell you what to prepare for the audition???

If they ask you to do a monologue, then make sure you have it memorized. Practice makes it perfect.

When you are performing your monologue, look some where BEHIND the casting director (like the wall). Not into their eyes. And make sure you take your time. Don't rush it. Breath naturally.

Bring your headshot %26amp; resume. If you don't have one, bring a picture of yourself that shows your face clearly. When you arrive at the audition, if there they didn't provide any Forms or Sign-in Sheets, then write your Name, Phone Number and Email address on the back of your picture.

Please arrive at the location 15 minutes before your actual time. So you will have time to ask the coordinator any questions you have. For example, if there are any sides? what to expect from the audition?

Dress comfortably. Nothing fancy, nothing formal. Just casual and make sure you can move easily.

It is okay, to tell the Casting Director that this is your FIRST audition. So they will not think you are a trained actor who just didn't know how to audition.

Be friendly. Smile. Go into the audition... ';Hello!! My name is _______ and guess what?! This is my FIRST audition!! I'm so Excited!!!'; A smile goes a long way. (And who doesn't like to work with friendly people?)

And you know what? You've got nothing to loose. It's only your FIRST audition! There will be more to come!! Just go, do your best, and let your personality and passion for acting shine!!!!

Good Luck!! :) and have fun!!Help auditioning for a play need advice?
Stay calm and be confident!

Do something different than all the actors who read before you. Add some flair but make sure to keep it your style...

Do not be arrogant or proud...

Do not try and figure out if u got the part you auditioned for or not. You will end running in circles trying to figure out what the directors is thinking about you and about other people.

Do it with a friend, you will be more calm and will possibly have more fun.
