I wrecked a 02 ford ranger and the airbags deployed and I bought both airbags and im ready to replace them but I haven't done nothing to t module or sensors is that a problem? and the main thing im trying to do is just cover up the holes they left... what will happen if I dont replace the module or sensors?I need advice and help with replacing my airbags...?
I agree, i normally don't answer questions that already have a good answer, but if the sensors have already been deploys, you will need to carefully inspect EVERY WIRE relevant to the airbags, since any flaw could cause the airbags to go off as soon as you plug it in, it could kill you, your life could be alters by your face being maimed its not a good idea to attempt this yourself, unless you have the schematic of the wiring for the entire airbag, sensor circuit array, and are skilled in diagnosing electrical issues. Even with a schematic, who's to say that one or more of the sensors wasn't damaged in a crash, and may cause them to go off next time you sit in the car, even though when you tested it , it appears to be working fine?
If i was in your situation, and i didn't want to go to a shop, i would just pull the fuse on the airbag circuit, and drive the car with no airbags at all.I need advice and help with replacing my airbags...?
Absolute best advice: I don't recommend this as a DIY project.
Bite the bullet and take it to a technician that's experienced in these systems. At a bare minimum, the crash sensors and associated wiring should be checked carefully BEFORE an airbag is replaced.
if your airbags deployed you should get a new car. just a thought though
