I deep condition my hair every week. Would it be ok if i did it over night (to sleep with my hair wet under a steam cap with some form of deep conditioner in it) or can that give me a cold? Advice please?African american....... deep conditioning advice..... Help please??
i would'nt sleep with a regular conditioner in my hair unless it's a leave in, because your hair can become really limp. i love to use perfect results deep triple silk conditioner, it works really well and it's at all beauty supplies.African american....... deep conditioning advice..... NOOOOOOO it is not good for your hair as a black, white, red, orange person. You can not sleep in a conditioning cap overnight, your hair will be slimy the next morning, weak and break off, totally defeating the purpose of deep conditioning. More than 30-45 minutes is too much. Read the instructions of whatever product you use. Some of the stronger protein conditioners/reconstructors (apoghee/keracare) will actually mess up your hair if left on longer than 20-30mins.
If you can't fit deep condition in schedule try paul mitchell supercharge moisturizer, 3-5 minutes and you're good, or use creme of nature with conditioner. daily you can use a night time product to help your hair.
No that will actually be GOOD for your hair. I'm caucasian however, I have very ethnic hair.. I deep condition my hair over night about once every two weeks.. it keeps it very soft. Also, try washing your hair first then applying the deep conditioner and taking a really long HOT shower. The steam really helps the pores in your hair open up and let the conditioner and moisturizer seep in. :)
I would not do that, you could get sick why not just pick a Saturday to stay in all day and leave the conditioner in all day long, let it dry then rinse the next morning.
That is what some women do. It should be fine. You could also try a leave-in conditioner, like Infusion.
